Magic Races: Shackles and Dark Fire.
For today we have prepared two new magic weapons - Shackles and Dark Fire. Shackles prevent you from jumping and also slow you down a bit. A single Shackles spell will attack all the players running in front of you. The Dark Fire is even more unusual weapon - not only it blocks the player's view, but also makes it hard to control the horse. You should really know the track well in order to ride your horse in the dark.
Bonus items added today:
Critical Fireball - a really powerful weapon, that can literally knock you out of the saddle. Can penetrate an ordinary shield.
Critical Dark Fire - will attack not just one, but all the players running in front of you. Can penetrate an ordinary shield.
Critical Water Shield - a more powerful version of the ordinary shield. Can protect you from critical attacks.
Note: when a player already running in Dark Fire is attacked by a Fireball, the attack automatically becomes critical.
Major improvements:
A fired weapon will now actually hit the shield instead of just being cancelled (those attacks will be also displayed as "shielded"). Basic track geometry is now taken into account in the bot attack algorithm, so their shots should be more realistic now. When attacked by a Fireball or Ice, you will loose your magic item as before, however, if you haven't got any magic item at the moment of attack, then you magic bar value will be preserved. An ordinary shield can now protect you from critical ice (critical ice is bigger but not stronger than ordinary ice). Right after a fireball attack, you will now have a few seconds of recovery, you can not be attacked during that period (attacks will be displayed as "cancelled").
The complexity of the magic logic increases drammatically with each new added item. However, as you can see, we are working hard to organize it all into one stable system, to make the magic races work exactly as it has been in the original version. Some game situations appear to be exteremely rare, so it is almost impossible for the developers to test it in advance. We are really glad to see many players who are helping us improve the system, sending us screenshots and videos depicting the differences between the original and the new versions, proposing improvements and giving other useful feedback.
